Recreational rowing adventures
Discover the beauty of the River Severn and River Avon with our recreational rowing events. Organised by our dedicated Recreational Rowing Committee, these tours range from short, scenic trips to multi-day explorations both within the UK and further afield. Many longer tours are also organised by British Rowing, offering fantastic opportunities to explore new waterways and build lasting friendships.
Beginners' Regatta: Your first stroke to competition
Every September, Upton Rowing Club proudly hosts a 'Beginners' Regatta'. This popular event is designed for new recruits who have started rowing within the past twelve months. It provides an exciting and supportive environment to experience competitive rowing for the first time, attracting clubs from across the region and fostering a fantastic sense of achievement and camaraderie.
Winter head races and external regattas
During the winter season, the Club Committee organises monthly Head races, open to all members with sufficient experience. These challenging races involve a warm-up row of just over 5km upstream, followed by a timed return over the same 5km course. Additionally, our members actively participate in a wide range of external regattas throughout the year, proudly representing Upton Rowing Club.
