Our facilities at a glance
Upton Rowing Club offers a comprehensive range of facilities designed to support all levels of rowing, from recreational to competitive. Our setup ensures an all-round, year-round club rowing experience, enhanced by our prime location on the River Severn.
Boathouse & fleet
Our boathouse in the Marina provides easy ramp access to the water. We store club and private member boats, approximately 45 boats in total, including VIIIs, IVs, Pairs, Quads, Doubles, and Singles of varying weight classes.
Training & support
For on-land training, we have a number of Concept 2 ergometers in the Boathouse. On the water, two coaching launches are moored in the Marina. We also have boat trailers to transport our boats to competitions nationwide.
Amenities & river access
Members and visitors can use our on-site toilets. For refreshments, "The Wheelhouse Cafe" is a popular meeting spot. Most importantly, we have access to an uninterrupted 26km stretch of the River Severn.
An unparalleled rowing experience
What makes Upton Rowing Club truly special is the combination of our excellent facilities and the unique environment we operate in. We pride ourselves on providing an all-round rowing club experience, largely thanks to the uninterrupted length of the River Severn on our doorstep.
Boathouse & direct river access
Our well located boathouse within the Marina offers easy access to the water. A ramp and boating pontoon ensure smooth launching and recovery of boats, making your rowing sessions hassle-free. The boathouse houses both our club fleet and private member boats both inside and outside
The majestic River Severn
The crown jewel of our facilities is the magnificent River Severn itself. With an uninterrupted 26km stretch available directly from our boathouse which runs from Tewkesbury to Worcester, it offers ample space for even the most energetic members to train and enjoy. This exceptional waterway is a key factor in providing our members with an all-round club rowing experience, unrivalled in its beauty and scope.
