Upton Rowing Club Upton-upon-Severn, Worcestershire |
Our
Row-Fit Programme started in 2009 and aims to bring a wider number of our
community into both dry and wet rowing based activities. The dry activities are
not just centred on indoor-rowing machines but designed to encourage and develop
athleticism including core fitness and flexibility to support the athlete's
performance and wellbeing while developing strength and aerobic fitness
alongside technical excellence.
The
Ro-Fit has adult and junior sections and aims to grow with time and support.
Both programmes provide learning journeys, for those that want them, from indoor
rowing, to water-based sculling and from there to sweep-oar rowing. All
activities are coached and Ro-Fit is already providing coached, on-water
sessions to adults in order to develop their potential in competition.
There is no compulsion to move from dry to wet and the opportunities to train for fitness and or competition are in your gift. Those choosing to stay in the dry Ro-Fit activities alone can pay a reduced membership fee of the Club (Social) and then the small fee to join Ro-Fit. In 2009/2010 these fees are just (social member: 10 pounds) and Ro-Fit: 30 pounds (adult/year) and junior (15 pounds/year). Compare that with the cost of a gym! Join us!
