Learn-to-Row Course

Our Learn-to-Row (L2R) course starts around Easter each year on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with new trainees being accepted for the first 4-6 weeks only.

In the middle of June, the L2R[an error occurred while processing this directive] contingent is joined by graduates from our popular Pubs, Clubs and Firms (PCF) course. During their training, all members of the squad are trained in rowing, sculling and rudimentary theory and practice of coxing. We also run capsize drills to provide all members with practical experience of what to do in the event of capsize. We aim to get all squad members through to test by the end of September so that they can become full members of the Club. Application can be made to the Learn-to-Row administrators or the Chairman. Everyone must be able to swim 100m in still water (and in light clothing).

More details will follow shortly.
